The Jacks

are on a mission:

web4_edited_edited.png

to bring you back to the 60s. To the high school dance with the mirror ball lighting. To watching the Beatles on Ed Sullivan, that first time. To when you came home from school to listen to the Rolling Stones and the Kinks and felt understood, like these bands got you and what was happening in the country better than your parents and teachers. The Jacks recreate the power, the nostalgia, and the wild freedom of the 60s, and share their passion for this music with you.

this is no ordinary cover band

these are four musicians who lived this music, who started playing because of it. “It was the music of my coming of age. I was in 4th grade when the Beatles made their first appearance on Ed Sullivan, ” says Bobby Gee (guitar/keyboard/vocals).

Bassist Steve calls the 60s music his first love, remembering: “When the Beatles hit I was agape, completely won over. I wanted to play, not just listen” and he’s been playing this music ever since.

It was the soundtrack of my youth” says Charlie, drummer and musical director for The Jacks. “It spoke to me and for me. Still does.”

The bandmates have been connected since as far back as 1978, when founding members Charlie and Bob started playing music as The Clonetones. The groupings evolved over the years, adding Steve in the 80s and eventually Mike in the late 2010s.

So what happens

 at a Jacks show?

Though Mike (guitarist) is the newest member, the other bandmates have been connected since as far back as 1978, when founding members Charlie and Bob started playing music as The Clonetones. The groupings evolved over the years, adding Steve in the 80s and eventually Mike in the late 2010s.

First, you hear “Lose That Girl,’ with The silky falsetto melting away the distractions of today. Bobby Gee’s fiery chords get in your soul and then you remember that first Stones concert, where you were when you heard Cream, and how much this music was a part of your life. Charlie’s fierce drums get in your body and then you start to dance, forgetting the others around you. Steve’s bass rocks and bumps, and then you’re back, reliving your youth and having too much fun to worry about anything else.  You’ll dance, you’ll smile, and then you’ll dance some more.

The Jacks play clubs and venues around New York City, but want to bring the 60s to your next party or event. With an impressive and faithful playlist, they’ll play hours of fun, classic songs that’ll make an unforgettable dance party.
